Trick training can be a fun and rewarding way of working with your horse.
Tricks are not simply about entertainment.
What trick training can develop
Depending on the horse, trick training can help develop:
- confidence
- concentration
- coordination
- body awareness
- communication
- problem-solving
- willingness to learn
Learning should be enjoyable
Horses learn best when they understand what is being asked and are given the time and space to process new information.
The training is therefore adapted to the individual horse and its physical and mental development. Depending on the horse, we can work on simple behaviours or more advanced exercises.
The horse's wellbeing always comes first. We want the horse to be an active participant in the learning process rather than simply performing because it has to.
Beyond ridden work
Trick training can provide a wonderful way to strengthen the relationship between horse and human outside traditional ridden work.
Learning should be fun for both of you.
